RCMP Hiring

The RCMP are looking for a few good men and women to help fill the ranks.

The commander of the Drumheller detachment, Staff Sergeant Art Hopkins, says there are all sorts of opportunities awaiting you.

"Almost every job in the general public is available in the RCMP.  I'm a diver, I taught within the force and outside the force, I've travelled to both the east and west coasts.  Here's a prairie boy teaching the police side of diving to people who live at the ocean."

Some employment experts figure the average young person today will go through five or six careers before they retire.  Each shift can mean a loss in accrued pension and other benefits, but Hopkins says within the RCMP you can go from one duty to another without giving up anything.

Members of the Drumheller detachment will be at a career fair this Thursday, June 20 at the Badlands Community Facility.
