Midland ODR And Community Hall Continue To Garner Support

On Thursday, October 10th, a presentation was held at the Midland Outdoor Rink where Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. presented the Midlandvale Community Hall a cheque for $10,000 to go towards the new accessible outdoor rink in Midland.

Jim Gerlinger, Assistant Foreman with Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. (CNRL) in the Drumheller area notes that it is important for their company to be involved in such a positive project in Drumheller. “I drove by here and seen what was going on. I thought this is a great project for the community. I went to our management to see if we could provide a donation and they came through with flying colours. (The project) got a lot of interest in Calgary, when I brought it up to them, so they showed up with some cash for it.”

Jason Lush, Project Foreman for CNRL shares that their company has always been proud to support the communities they live and work in. “We’re fairly active in this area. This is one of our core areas and when Jim brought (the project) to our attention, we thought, it’s for the kids and it is a great project, and support local as much as we can. We are definitely big on the community development and anything we can do to help contribute, we’re all about that.”

There were also more contributions as the Dinosaur Valley Half Marathon provided a donation of their proceeds from their event held in early September to the Midlandvale Community Hall as this is the base for their half marathon and the hall board kindly lets the half marathon participants use the washroom facilities on site, along with use of the hall for registration.

Also on Thursday, October 10th, the Midlandvale Community Hall had a presentation of their own to do. They presented the grand prize from their latest raffle to Chris Morgan. Chris has won a voucher for two to travel anywhere WestJet flies.
