Three officers from the Drumheller RCMP Detachment were among 135 Alberta RCMP officers who were recognized with the prestigious King Charles III Coronation Medal during ceremonies held on Jan. 14 in Devon, AB, and Jan. 23 in Cochrane, AB.
Those awarded included:
- Staff Sergeant Robert Harms – Drumheller Detachment Commander;
- Corporal Isaac Chung – Drumheller Operations Supervisor and Trainer/Instructor; and
- Constable Dale Selbee – Drumheller General Duties Officer and Trainer/Instructor.

Cst. Selbee and Cpl. Chung’s nominations were based on their outstanding dedication, leadership, and commitment with respect to the implementation and delivery of an ongoing training program at Drumheller Detachment contributing to policing excellence specifically in the area of general duty tactics and emergency preparation and response.
S/Sgt. Harms nomination was based on his dedication, leadership, and commitment to the Drumheller RCMP Detachment, policing of the community, and to his involvement and leadership in various Policing Operations throughout Alberta.

Created to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III, the medal was awarded to 30,000 Canadians who made significant contributions to their communities, provinces, or the country as a whole. Recipients were selected for their outstanding achievements, impactful work, and contributions that reflected positively on Canada, both domestically and internationally.
The recipients from the RCMP were recognized for their exceptional dedication to their communities and their unwavering commitment to service. Their achievements included innovative contributions to the RCMP, leadership in reconciliation efforts and cultural change, and participation in domestic operations that directly supported Canadians. In addition to their service, their involvement in volunteerism and community engagement was also recognized as an example of leadership both within the RCMP and the communities they serve.
