This past Saturday, the Grade 12 students at St. Anthony’s School held their graduation.
A number of honoured guests, parents, teachers, and students were on hand in the gymnasium of St. Anthony’s School for the commencement ceremonies on Saturday morning. Later in the evening, the graduating class was dressed to the nines as they had their Grand March banquet at the Badlands Community Facility. According to Principal Celeste Schrock, everything went fantastic. “It was very exciting. We have a great group of kids and they’ve been with us for a long time, so it is always with mixed emotions that we send them off. It’s a great celebration that way.”
As part of graduation, the community steps up to help these students move forward with their education, through scholarships and bursaries. Schrock was overwhelmed by the community support again this year. “We gave out over 30,000 dollars in scholarships and awards, which is just amazing. Each year I am amazed at how generous our community is with their support of our youth and their education.”
Also this week, the school held their Feast Day to celebrate and acknowledge all the kids and volunteers of the school. Wednesday afternoon the students and volunteers were treated to hot dogs and watermelon. Also, the school held a pep rally for the kids to show their love for St. Anthony’s School.
