It was a busy weekend around the Drumheller area this past weekend with three community celebrations.
In Carbon, it was Carbon Sports Days with a parade, ball tournament, community dinner, and cabaret. Hussar had the same with Hussar Summer Daze. Finally, the community of Delia had their All In Weekend with a corn hole tournament, car show, community dinner and entertainment at the Delia Community Hall.
Robyn Thompson, one of the organizers of Delia’s All In Weekend, notes that it is a big job to organize such an event. “It is a lot of work putting together an event like this. The good thing about it is that all the boards in town, get together, work together, to put it all together for everybody.”
As was mentioned, there were a number of events with Saturday wrapping up with a community dinner and dance. Thompson shares that the support from the community was amazing for the dinner and dance. “It was sold out. We have over 250 tickets sold and it is the biggest event we’ve held in several years, probably since before COVID. It was a huge turnout.”
From all accounts the food was delicious, entertainment excellent, and the company was great according to Thompson. “It is always nice to get together and feel the sense of community again and all get together and have fun, especially after a busy seeding season, people got to relax a little bit.”
Thompson confirms that the All In Weekend will be back again next year on the Father’s Day weekend in June.
