One of the greatest days of the year in the Drumheller Valley took place yesterday as our community came together to celebrate our nation’s 158th birthday.
Canada Day was another huge success in Drumheller. The day started with the annual Drumheller Kinsmen Pancake Breakfast at Riverside Value Drug Mart. The lineup was steady throughout the morning where attendees enjoyed pancakes and ham. They even had special guest pancake flippers, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre and former MP Damien Kurek.
At 10 AM, the annual Drumheller Canada Day Parade took place and according to the organizers, the Drumheller Parade Committee, they had 105 entrants into the parade this year, the most in the past four years. The parade was approximately 40 minutes long.
The Drumheller Farmers Market was at the Drumheller Memorial Arena and was nearly completely full of vendors. Just next to the arena was entertainment and food vendors throughout the afternoon and evening. The day wrapped up with the Canada Day Fireworks which was paired with music playing on our own New Country 92.5.
