Every August, Pioneer Acres just outside of Irricana prepares for their annual antique show, and that comes this weekend.
In conjunction with the event, Pioneer Acres is celebrating the 100th year of Caterpillar. On Thursday, they unveiled the CAT Centennial D6 Dozer. This dozer is a limited edition released in a special “Centennial Grey” colour scheme celebrating Caterpillar’s 100th Anniversary. Only 60 of these special edition D6 dozers were produced worldwide and the Pidherney Centennial D6 is number 19 of 60.
They will also have a 1952 D2 CAT dozer on hand for comparison. Also, they have the CAT Ten, one of the smallest Caterpillars manufactured. Both the CAT Ten and Holt 75 Crawler are on loan from the Reynolds Museum.
All of these will be on display starting today with the opening of Pioneer Acres 55th Annual Show which is on from August 8th through the 10th. They will have numerous displays, four different parades with horses, cars and trucks, their feature parade and the “Parade of Power”. Live entertainment will be on the Calgary Stampede stage every afternoon and evening, and is included with your admission. Be there for the Antique Tractor Pulls, Slow Races, and Driving Skills Demonstrations.
