The Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce (the Chamber) has shared that they will be hosting a general meeting later in September.
According to Executive Director Heather Bitz, this meeting is part of the new by-laws passed by the Chamber at the Annual General Meeting earlier this year. “Recently, we updated our by-laws at our Annual General Meeting in March. A requirement of those by-laws now is that we have quarterly general meetings. We are having our first quarterly general meeting on September 23rd at the Badlands Community Facility.”
There will be many things discussed at this meeting, including the election of a new director, advises Bitz. “As part of our by-law amendments, that we made back in March, we decreased our board size from 13 to 11 directors but we did have a vacancy on our board when we had our elections back at our AGM. This meeting we will be filling that position. We have a nominee and will be making a motion to have that nominee acclaimed to our board.” They will also be updating the Chamber members on updates regarding the World’s Largest Dinosaur.
The meeting is open to all members of the Chamber but they do ask that you pre-register. “We asked our members to pre-register, to let us know that they are going to be there, so we can have materials ready for the meeting. It is just easier logistically for us if we have an idea of who is planning on attending.” For Chamber members to register, visit the Chamber website, or if having troubles, please reach out to the Chamber at 403-823-8100
