As part of Fire Prevention Week, the Drumheller Fire and Rescue invites the public to come and check out the Downtown Fire Hall.
Saturday, they hosted an open house from 11 AM until 3 PM. A number of the local volunteer firefighters were on hand driving kids around in one of the fire trucks, doing demonstrations on how they fight fire, and cooking up some delicious hot dogs.
The theme this year for Fire Prevention Week was safely disposing of lithium ion batteries. Drumheller and District Solid Waste was on hand during the event providing educational information about battery recycling and the dangers of putting lithium batteries in the trash.
According to Fire Chief Derian Rosario, over 350 people attended the open house. The fire department thanks all that attended the event.
