UPDATE: Drumheller RCMP have provided an update into an investigation of sexual assault on a business owner in Drumheller.
Earlier this month, Drumheller RCMP arrested and charged 59-year-old Bernard Germain with sexual assault and sexual interference. At that time, RCMP believed there were more victims.
Shortly after this media release, three more victims came forward with allegations of sexual assault while they were employed by Germain. All allegations were investigated and further charges have been laid. Germain has further been charged with:
- Sexual assault (x3)
- Sexual interference (x3)
- Sexual exploitation (x3)
Germain has been released from custody to appear in Provincial Court of Alberta in Drumheller on Nov. 21, 2025.

On Aug. 13, 2025, Drumheller RCMP entered into a sexual assault investigation. The victim came to police to disclose a series of sexual assaults that happened over several years while they were a youth. The suspect was the employer of the youth at a local business.
As a result of the investigation, Drumheller RCMP has charged 59-year-old Bernard Germain, a resident of Drumheller, with the following:
- Sexual assault
- Sexual interference
Germain will appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Drumheller on Oct. 17, 2025.
Drumheller RCMP is continuing their investigation and believe there may be more victims. RCMP is asking the public to come forward with any similar type incidents.
