With the municipal election having being just over a month ago, a surprising announcement by the Village of Carbon this week.
In a statement, they share that effective as of November 14, 2025, Travis Cormier has resigned from his position of Mayor and his seat on Village Council. No reason was given as to his resignation.
Deputy Mayor Rosalie Jimmo is now the new Mayor of Carbon. Carbon Village Council can continue as they have enough for quorum so council meetings and village operations will continue.
The Village will have an upcoming by-election for the vacant seat on council. No date has yet been announced for the by-election.
