On Oct. 21, 2025, Oyen RCMP initiated a fraud investigation when a local company reported that one of their combines had been repossessed. The company believed that this occurred due to a forged bill of sale.
After a lengthy and detailed investigation, and with assistance from Leader RCMP, Oyen RCMP has arrested and charged Ryan Michael Bennett (36), formerly of the MD of Acadia, with the following:
- Fraud over $5000 (x7);
- Forging a document;
- Uttering a forged document.
Bennet will appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Hanna on Jan. 28, 2026.
