There have been a number of signing events held across the province for those who are in support of Alberta leaving Canada and becoming an independent state. On Wednesday evening, another signing event and presentation took place at the Badlands Community Facility.
There were multiple tables available for those interested in signing the petition. The official question is “Do you agree that the Province of Alberta should cease to be a part of Canada to become an independent state?” The doors opened at 6 PM and then a presentation was held starting at 7 PM. Mitch Sylvestre was on hand to share the the views of Stay Free Alberta. Over 100 people were in the auditorium for the presentation.
There are a few Stay Free Alberta canvassers based in the Drumheller area so if you missed the event and want to sign the petition, there will be more opportunities to do so throughout the region. A total of nearly 178,000 signatures are required for the petition to move forward, possibly as a referendum question presented to all voters in Alberta.
