On Feb. 21, 2023, Grande Cache RCMP responded to two calls, later revealed to be linked, one of a deceased male located in the driveway of a residence in Grande Cache and one of a burning vehicle outside of town. Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit (MCU) was called in and took carriage of the investigation. After a thorough investigation, on Feb. 18, 2026, Alberta RCMP MCU arrested Code Ouellette (40), a resident of Winnipeg. Ouellette was charged with the first-degree murder of 52-year-old Drumheller resident Robert Zibauer.
Ouelette was brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody. He is to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Cache on April 16, 2026.
