Some may not know that there are options for daycare services in Delia with Wild Aspen Enrichment Centre.
Nichole Clayholt operates the daycare in the United Church in Delia, across from Delia School. Clayholt shares why she believed it was a promising venture for their small community. “I just thought it was a way to support our community because Delia doesn’t have any official child care. We’re right across the street from the school, so I thought it would be an amazing fit to support the families that are trying to raise beautiful humans in Delia.”
Clayholt is already seeing support for the service within the community. “We have had amazing support from our local families. We really look at learning and growing within community. We’ve got lots of kids that are meeting their school friends, a couple of years early, and I love that. People always ask me ‘how things are going, how many kids we have’, and I always say there’s room for a few more.”
The best thing is that Clayholt’s team offers programming for not just preschool children. “Our program is designed to be whatever you need it to be. We take kids from 1 all the way to 12. We work really hard to have a really inclusive program. We start out with daycare kids who are just learning to be away from their caregivers for the first time. Then we slowly start integrating some preschool skills. Then we introduce some Kindergarten readiness skills. We send them off to Kindergarten and support them on their days off. For our after school programming, we pick them up from school and offer programming for a couple of hours. Basically, we can be the extra set of hands to fill in any of the gaps and help your child become really comfortable in their love of learning.”
