The stands were full and the camping area was full of trailers all weekend long with the 106th Hand Hills Lake Stampede.
Non-stop rodeo action all weekend long with some great times and scores for the rodeo competitors. The results provided through the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association. In Bareback, Dallas Hay from Australia took the win with an 80 point ride on Calgary Stampede’s Delicate Rose. Justin Myers and Colton Ouellette tied for second with 78 points.
The Steer Wrestlers were quick with Ponoka’s Brock Butterworth coming away with the top time of 4.5 seconds. There was a tie for second with Francois-Pier Goulet and Ryan Schuckburgh only three tenths behind at 4.8.
In Team Roping, Kolton Schmidt of Barrhead and Landen Glenn of Mealester, Oklahoma, would be the fastest with a time of 4.5 seconds. Denim Ross and Kavis Drake would end up second with a time of 4.9.
Saddle Bronc is always a very contentious battle and Sawyer Eirikson of Okotoks would have the top score of 85 points on Calgary Stampede’s Fake Border. Luke Shields would end up second scoring an 84.
Tie Down roping would see some close times as well. Taking the first place prize money was Kyle Lucas of Carstairs with a winning time of 8.2 seconds. Only one tenth of a second back was Bo Pickett at 8.3.
The Barrel Racers did not disappoint with some great times. Jayden Wilson of Gleichen would be the fastest time through the barrels at 16.51. There was a tie for second with both Suzanne Brooks and Lisa Zachoda attaining a time of 16.56.
With the Bull Riding, Beau Gardner of Arrowwood would take the first place purse with an 85 point ride on Calgary Stampede’s Foo Fighter. Second place would go to Kyle Brown with an 81.
Bradi Whiteside of Longview would win the Ladies Breakaway Roping with a quick time of 2.2 seconds. Kiley Shade would end up second with a time of 2.4 seconds.
Denver Leitch from Grimshaw would win the Novice Bareback with a score of 72 points. Novice Saddle Bronc would see Jordan Cust of Sturgeon County take top money with a 67 point score. In the Junior Steer Riding, Cecil Baynton from Maple Creek would take the win with a 72.5 score.
