Halloween is a fun and spooky night for kids (and adults!) — but safety should always come first. The RCMP wants everyone to have a safe and enjoyable evening!
Here are a few tips to keep the night fright-free:
Ø Be seen! Add reflective tape to costumes and carry a flashlight or glow stick.
Ø Stay on sidewalks and cross the street at marked crosswalks — never between parked cars.
Ø Check your treats before eating anything. Toss out any unwrapped or suspicious-looking candy.
Ø Choose safe costumes — make sure masks don’t block your vision and that costumes fit properly.
Ø Drivers: Slow down and stay alert — children may dart out unexpectedly.
Ø Pet owners: Keep pets inside or on a leash to avoid any Halloween scares.
Let’s make this Halloween a safe and memorable one for everyone!
