Our Drumheller Dragons were hoping that heading out on the road would get them off their four game losing streak but the Bonnyville Pontiacs had a different idea in mind.
The Dragons would come out flying with most of the play being in the Pontiacs zone but were unable to capitalize. The Pontiacs would open the scoring 2:12 into the game with Antoine Demers scoring his first of the year. Bonnyville would add another on a Dragons penalty for too many players on the ice, at 10:17 with their leading scorer, Maxwell Pendy scoring. Then, only 1:49 later, another one of the Pontiacs leading scorers, Ben Constantino would make it 3-0.
The Dragons would cut the deficit to two goals early in the second period when Rowan McDonald scores his second of the year, from Allen Sherpa at 4:13. The top line of the Pontiacs would reinstate the three goal lead with 3:48 remaining in the second as Christophe Lussier scored his eighth of the year. The Dragons would cut the lead while on the penalty kill as Jensen Marsh scored his 6th of the season, from Noa Halat, making it 4-2 Bonnyville after two periods.
The Dragons would have their chances to get back in the game in the third but they would battle Bonnyville goaltender Nathan Salisbury and the post. Down two goals, Drumheller would pull netminder Sean Cootes with just over two minutes left in the third and Bonnyville would find the empty net with Maxwell Pendy scoring his second of the game, making the final 5-2.

The Dragons continue their two game road trip tonight (Saturday, November 1st) as they pay their first visit to the Cenovus Energy Hub in Lloydminster to face the Bobcats. All of the action can be heard on the home of the Dragons, New Country 92.5 with Jason Blanke and Boedy Shields, starting with the Fountain Tire Drumheller Pregame show at 6:45 PM.
