UPDATE: We have just received word that Emcon crews are currently working to remove the semi from the highway so please use caution and watch for flaggers on scene.
On Tuesday morning just after 8 AM, Drumheller RCMP, Morrin Fire, Drumheller Fire, and EMS were dispatched to an apparent rollover on the eastern side of the Red Deer River valley on Highway 27.
There are not many details as of yet but word is that a semi lost control and rolled, losing some of the load it was carrying, blocking the highway and stopping traffic on Highway 27 in both directions. The eastbound lane is completely blocked due to the tractor of the tractor-trailer unit being on the highway. The westbound lane is open to alternating traffic.
We will reach out to the RCMP and Morrin Fire when the scene is cleared. If traveling on Highway 27 between Morrin and Three Hills, expect delays.
