Friday morning we saw the first trip of FlixBus between Calgary and Drumheller
We were at the new stop at the Downtown Plaza for the first departure to Calgary and there were a few people that decided to take one of the first trips on the bus to the city. One of those was Sean Jamieson and he loves being able to access Calgary by bus. “Honestly, just being able to get (to Calgary) without my vehicle. On this particular occasion, I actually had to leave my vehicle in Calgary and was wondering how I was going to get it back here.”
The multiple stops in Calgary, the airport, the C-Train Station at Whitehorn, and downtown is a huge benefit but Jamieson notes that just getting to Calgary is huge. “At the end of the day, once you get into Calgary, you can get an Uber, or something, to get anywhere you need to be.”
The price point is also beneficial according to Jamieson. According to Sunshine Coach, who is operating the trip for FlixBus, they had about 10 for their first trip out this morning and hope it only grows from there.
Service will be on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays until the summer with two trips per day, one leaving downtown Drumheller at 10:45AM and one leaving at 6:00PM.
