Almost as big as the tradition of the Hand Hills Lake Stampede is the tradition of weather affecting the event year after year.
In 2026, it was no different. Friday would see temperatures in the 30’s for their Saddle Bronc event on Friday evening. Saturday would be windy but at least the sun was shining for the rodeo events in the afternoon. Sunday, like a light switch, went from sunshine to rain. The show went on Sunday afternoon even with the muddy conditions in the infield.
