On June 9, 2026, at approximately 1 p.m., Airdrie RCMP Integrated Rural responded to a motor vehicle collision, between an ambulance and a farm tractor, near the intersection of Highway 9 and Range Road 254, just East of Beiseker, Alta. The ambulance, transporting a patient while having its emergency equipment activated, and the tractor were travelling on Highway 9 when they collided. As a result of the collision, the male patient was air lifted via Stars Air Ambulance in critical condition. The two EMS personnel, the driver and the one that was tending to the patient in the rear of the ambulance, were transported to a hospital by ground ambulance, with serious injuries but in stable condition.
Highway 9 will be closed in the area until further notice while RCMP and OH&S investigate.
Highway 9 reopened to traffic later in the evening.
