There was a threat of rain throughout Canada Day for the Drumheller Valley this year but someone up there must like us as there was only ominous clouds throughout the day.
The sunshine was prevalent to start the day at the Kinsmen Pancake Breakfast which has been held for 40 years at Riverside Pharmacy. The Drumheller Kinsmen along with help from the Drumheller Titans and Terrapins served quite a number of hungry patrons before the parade.

The Drumheller Parade is known far and wide as the one to check out on Canada Day and 2026 did not disappoint. This year, according to Bob Sheddy of the Drumheller Parade committee was nearly as large as last year, with 104 entries. In 2025, there were 105 entries. MP for Battle River-Crowfoot and Leader of the Opposition, Pierre Poilievre was on hand waving to those along the parade route, stopping for a number of photos.
The day continued with events around the community. The Darryl Jacques Memorial Beef On A Bun was at Freson Bros., with the proceeds from the BBQ going to the Rotary Club of Drumheller. The Drumheller Farmers Market took over the Drumheller Memorial Arena and was busy throughout the afternoon. The Badlands Community Facility was filled with kids wanting to play on the inflatable slides in the Field House. An awareness walk took place bringing attention to colon cancer and the symptoms to look for.

The fireworks were fantastic once again celebrating Canada’s 159th birthday
Entertainment was on the stage at the World’s Largest Dinosaur all afternoon and evening, with the night wrapping up with a fireworks display synchronized to music on New Country 92.5, starting at 11 PM.
Overall a fantastic event bringing our community together and we all can’t wait until next year!
