Those that live in the Drumheller Valley are pretty proud of our small town.
Travel Drumheller is as well and is looking to share the love of the Drumheller Valley this weekend with their 10 day event, I Love Drumheller Valley Days. Jessica Fleury, Executive Director for Travel Drumheller shares the reasoning behind the celebration. “Travel Drumheller has been doing the ‘I Love Drumheller Valley’ initiative for a number of years. It is sort of our way of giving back to the community and support community pride in Drumheller. One of our pillars, in our new strategic plan, is ‘Community First’. This is our way to support the community, support community pride, bring our partners together, encourage folks to be a tourist in our own backyard, experience these incredible attractions and businesses, and celebrate where we love to live.”
For Travel Drumheller, it is fairly easy for them to partner with local businesses and attractions for the days. “We did a call out to our partners at Travel Drumheller to see who would be willing to participate. It wasn’t too hard to fill the events and that is why we expanded ‘I Love Drumheller Valley Days’ to over a week of events because there is so much to see, do, and experience here. It is not just the events that are happening but a number of businesses are offering specials (over the event).”
One of the experiences Travel Drumheller gets to entertain is the response from those that visit our area from around the province, country, and the world. Fleury shares that our visitors truly enjoy coming to the valley. “Visitors to Drumheller have nothing but amazing things to say about what is happening here in the Drumheller Valley. They are also really delighted, and surprised, how much there actually is to do and experience here. Being in a rural location is also a really nice part of the Drumheller Valley experience. It’s a little bit of a quieter pace for the visit.”
