On Oct. 9, 2026, at 11:14 a.m., Gleichen RCMP responded to a report for a well-being check outside of a residence in Siksika First Nation, Alta. Upon arrival, a 17-year-old male was located deceased, and the circumstances surrounding his death appear to be suspicious.
RCMP Major Crimes Unit (MCU) was called in to investigate and has taken charge of the investigation. An autopsy will be performed on Oct. 13, 2026, at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Calgary.
Alberta RCMP believe the death is an isolated incident and there is no further risk to the general public.
