Connor Boyd, who played for the Drumheller Dragons from 2014 through 2016, has continued to be involved in his community.
One thing the players are always encouraged to do is to be involved with the people of Drumheller. When Connor was here, he was one of those guys who would step up first to carve a pumpkin with the Junior Dragons, or go for coffee with the seniors at one of the Manors in town. What he has learned from those days continues to be part of his life today.
Connor is attending the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Through a group at the university, Connor is raising funds for the United Way. His group, which includes 49 other students, have a goal of raising 20,000 dollars. The group will plunge themselves in an ice-cold pool at the "Main Quad" on the University of Alberta campus on November 7th. The participants dress up and have a great time with it. Did I mention that this event is outdoors?
I spoke to Connor about the event.

Great to see former Dragons continuing to help their communities.
