The Drumheller Girls Softball Association (DGSA) is coming off a wonderful year and looking to make it two in a row.

"We're having our annual general meeting on February 22, 7:00 (p.m.) at the BCF," reported vice-president Kent Jensen. "It's probably in one of the small meeting rooms in that back hallway."

They'll review 2016, which Jensen thinks will actually be pretty pleasant.

"We had two teams that ended up in provincials: the 14's ended up in fifth place and the U12 Vipers ended up in second place so, all around, it was a great season last year."

They also hosted women's fast pitch teams from the University of Calgary and SAIT and Jensen hopes that can happen again this summer.

"We've got a pitching clinic that's going to happen at DVSS on April 8 and 9 and registration's open for all the girls that want to play ball again this year," he added. "You can phone me or phone one of the board and we'll get them sent to you before the Sports Expo if you want."

The Sports Expo is scheduled for March 8 in the fieldhouse at the Badlands Community Facility and the DGSA will be there to pass out information and register new and returning players.
