The Drumheller Dragons had an exciting announcement after the game on Tuesday night.  They have signed a letter of intent with Nickolas De Beurs for him to play for the Dragons starting in the 2019-2020 season.

De Beurs currently plays for the Airdrie CFR Bisons AAA Midget team out of Airdrie.  In 15 games with the Bisons, De Beurs has 10 goals and 6 assists for 16 points.  De Beurs has also played as an affiliate player for the Drumheller Dragons three games this year.

Head Coach and General Manager Kevin Hasselberg is excited to have De Beurs for next year.   "We feel we've really hit the jackpot with Nick.  He's a great kid and great person.  He shares the same values that we do as an organization.  We've seen him three times now in the lineup with us and he doesn't look out of place."

De Beurs is also excited to move up to the Junior A ranks.  "I'm really excited.  I've wanted to sign with an AJHL team for a while and this seems like the right team."

With the signing, it is the first letter of intent signed for the Dragons for next season.  For the remainder of this season, De Beurs will be playing in Airdrie but may be called up again as an affiliate this season.
