Your Drumheller Dragons were at home on Friday night to face the Bonnyville Pontiacs.  The last time these two teams met, Bonnyville heavily outshot Drumheller, but the Dragons came away with the win.

When this one got underway, you knew it was going to be a fast, hard-hitting game.  The Pontiacs would score first 1:13 into the game as Lucas Thorne scored on the power play to make it 1-0 Bonnyville.  It was a physical period and the game had the feeling of a rivalry game.  The Dragons tied the game with 5.2 seconds left in the period when the Pontiacs turned the puck over at the blue line to Shane Ott who found Derrick Budz for his 14th of the year.  Bonnyville outshot Drumheller 13-8 in the period.

In the second, the Pontiacs took the lead once again when Jaden York scored 2:15 in.  The Dragons would once again tie the game with 11:20 left in the second when Markus Boguslavsky scored his 10th of the season from Dawson Bruneski.  The shots were more even in the period with Bonnyville outshooting Drumheller 14-13.  Hunter Virostek made some marvelous saves to keep his team in the game.

Once again in the third, the Pontiacs would take the lead as Marc-Antoine Benoit scored at 5:16, to make it 3-2 Bonnyville.  The Dragons would once again tie the game at 7:51 on the power play, as Brett Edwards fired a shot from the point for his 20th of the season, from Dawson Bruneski and Brayden Nicholetts.  Later in the period, Bonnyville would regain the lead at 12:51 when Bobby Young would score to make it 4-3 Pontiacs.  Drumheller would pull Virostek for the extra attacker and would get a power play as well, but could not solve Colby Muise.  The Pontiacs would end the scoring as Joel Ray would find the empty net to make the final score 5-3.
