The Drumheller Dragons hosted the Canmore Eagles on Tuesday night at the Memorial Arena.  This is the second meeting between these two teams with Canmore winning the previous game 6-4. Drumheller was looking for a better outcome tonight.

The Dragons got off to a quick start as the captain, Markus Boguslavsky scored on the power play only 2:15 into the game.  Assists went to Scout and Roc Truman.  The Eagles would tie the game with 5:25 left in the first when Max Giangualano scored.  Canmore out shot Drumheller 16-9 in the period.

Drumheller would regain the lead very early in the second.  Only 1:37 in, Brett Edwards scored from Dylan Wenzel and Brady Risk.  Wenzel would then take a major penalty for boarding which would give Canmore a five minute man advantage.  The Eagles would capitalize twice on the power play, at 3:38 and 6:48 on goals by Connor Lyons and Alex Young.  The Dragons would tie the game at 8:39 into the second when Kiano Robinson scored his first AJHL goal of his career from Shane Ott and Jordan Taupert.  Canmore would take the lead once again as Quinton Ong scored with 8:30 left in the second.  

Back and forth, these two teams would go in the third period.  Drumheller tied the game at 4-4 at 3:36 when Shane Ott scored from Scout Truman.  Canmore would lead once again as Mark Drohan scored to make it 5-4 Eagles.  On the power play, Canmore would make it a two goal lead as Quinton Ong scored Canmore's third power play goal of the game.  With 1:48 left in the game, the Dragons would pull Hunter Virostek to have a 6 on 5 advantage.  It would pay off as Drumheller would score with 1:18 left to get within one as Jordan Taupert scored from Eric Martin and Brett Edwards.  The comeback would be complete as again Drumheller had an empty net and used the 6 on 5 advantage to the fullest.  Roc Truman would score with 37 seconds left in the game to send the game to overtime.  An assist went to Kiano Robinson.  This game would head to over time.

In over time, both teams had some great opportunities.  Canmore had a couple of shots that got behind Hunter Virostek but could not get by the post.  With 3:36 left in the period, Drumheller completed the comeback.  Shane Ott scored his second of the game to give the Dragons the victory.  Assists went to Derrick Budz and Kiano Robinson.  With the win, Drumheller stretches their winning streak to four games and move into second place, one point over the Calgary Mustangs.

Next action for the Dragons comes up on Friday as they host the Calgary Mustangs for the first time this season.  Game time on Friday is at 7:30pm.  Special guest, Theoren Fleury will be in attendance with the Breaking Free Foundation.
