Your Drumheller Dragons took to the road on Friday night to battle the Olds Grizzlys. This is the first time the two teams have met this season.
Going into the game, on paper it looked as it was a mismatch as the Grizzlys only have three wins on the year. They don't play the game on paper and that was the case tonight. Olds would open the scoring at 4:31 of the first when AJ Belanger scored to make it 1-0 Grizzlys. Just after the goal, the Dragons would get a power play and capitalize nine seconds into the man advantage. Dawson Bruneski scored his second on the year from Roc Truman and Adam Heindel at 5:01. Five minutes later the Grizzlys would regain their lead as Kaiden Kanderka scored on a partial break to make it 2-1 Grizzlys after one period.
In the second, Drumheller had their chances to tie the game but could not solve Olds goaltender Duncan Hughes. The Dragons hit a couple of posts in the period as well. Drumheller would out shoot Olds 15-7 in the period.
To the third we go and the Dragons are still trying to find a way to tie it up. Midway through the period, Dragons captain, Markus Boguslavsky would score his sixth of the year from Shane Ott to tie the game 2-2. With 4:33 left to go, Roc Truman would seal the deal for the Dragons with his twelfth goal on the season from Aiden Yakimchuk. The final would be 3-2 Dragons.
