On Saturday, February 2nd the Drumheller Dragons were back up against the league-leading Brooks Bandits. The Dragons fought hard but came up short.
In the first period, the Bandits opened up the scoring at 11:50 into the first period from Andrew Lucas, assisted by William Lamay and Simon Gravel. Lots of the gameplay this period was in the Dragons zone as the Bandits had 16 shots on goal and the Dragons had 5. At 16:26, Ray Christy from the Bandits scored the second goal for the team assisted by Luke Bast and Ryan Mahshie.
Heading into the second period the Bandits lead 2-0 but the Dragons would answer back 5:31 into the period with a goal from Brett Edwards, who scored his 29th goal of the season, assisted by Matt Raymond and Adam Heindel. About 5 minutes later another goal was scored by the Bandits Ethan Lund who was assisted by Simon Boyko and Andranik Armstrong. Shots on goal for the second period would be 15 for the Brooks Bandits and 11 for the Drumheller Dragons.
In the final period, Bradley Stonnell would get one back for the Dragons at 10:42 during the power play assisted by Scout Truman and Brett Edwards. The Dragons trailed close behind the Bandits until an empty net goal was scored by Nathan Plessis assisted by Arnaud Vachon and Brandon Scanlin at 18:26. This period the Dragons would outshoot the Bandits with 9 shots on goal and the Bandits would have 8 shots on goal.
The final score was 4-2 for the Brooks Bandits.
