Your Drumheller Dragons had a home tilt against the Canmore Eagles.  The two teams haven't met since the game in Banff back in October where the Dragons came back from a 5-1 deficit to win in overtime.

This game would be a good match up as there were only 5 points between them going into the game tonight.  The fans were not disappointed.  The Dragons had the bulk of the play in Canmore's end to start the hockey game.  With their first powerplay opportunity, the Dragons made no mistake.  Roc Truman scored his 21st of the season from Jordan Taupert and Troy Dudley.  The Dragons would add another with 7:39 left in the period when Brett Edwards scored his 24th of the year from Jordan Taupert and Brayden Nicholetts.  Drumheller lead 2-0 after the first period.

The Eagles would get one back early in the second.  At 7:16, Taden Rattie scored on the powerplay to make it 2-1 Dragons.  The Dragons would get their third powerplay opportunity of the game and again would make it count.  Brayden Nicholetts would score his 10th of the season from Shane Ott and Jordan Taupert.  Drumheller would increase its lead with 45 seconds left in the second period when Markus Boguslavsky shot a laser that would knock off the water bottle off of the net.  His 11th of the year from Roc and Scout Truman.  Drumheller had a 4-1 lead going into the third period.

Drumheller continued with strong pressure in the Canmore zone for most of the third.  The Eagles would get another powerplay goal with 4:49 left to go on a goal from Quinton Ong.  With just under two minutes to go in the game, Canmore pulled its goalie.  Drumheller capitalized as Brett Edwards scored his second of the game, 25th of the season, into the empty net.  Assists went to Troy Dudley and Brayden Nicholetts.  The win was just what the Dragons needed as it was a team they may meet in the first round of the playoffs.  With the win, Drumheller remains in third in the Viterra AJHL South Division with 58 points, 5 points behind Okotoks and 4 points ahead of the Calgary Mustangs.
