Your Drumheller Dragons hosted the Okotoks Oilers for the second time this year.  The last time the two teams met in the Memorial Arena, Okotoks fell 3-0.  The Dragons were hoping for that again tonight.

The Dragons would start off on the right foot.  Troy Dudley would open the scoring at 10:32, with his second of the season from Shane Ott to give the Dragons the 1-0 lead.  With 1:19 left in the period, the Oilers would tie the game on a goal by Kaleb Ergang.  The first would end with the teams tied at 1-1.

In the second, the Dragons got into a little penalty trouble as they were on a power play and end up taking a high sticking penalty.  Then, unfortunately for the Dragons, Derrick Budz stick caught an Okotoks player high for a double minor high sticking penalty giving the Oilers a 4 on 3 power play.  Brett Edwards got caught for slashing giving Okotoks an extended 5 on 3 power play.  Okotoks would capitalize once with a goal by Dylan Holloway on the man advantage to give the Oilers a 2-1 lead.  The Dragons were able to kill off the remainder of the penalties only giving up the one goal.  Okotoks would make it 3-1 when Austin Wong scored from Dylan Holloway.  The Dragons would get one back with 1:01 left in the period when Kiano Robinson scored his third of the year to make it 3-2 after two periods.

Your Dragons would tie the game in the third period, 3:06 in, when Brett Edwards scored his 22nd of the season on a great set up by Jordan Taupert and Brayden Nicholetts.  Drumheller would have their chances in the period with two power-play opportunities but could not solve Brady Parker.  The game would remain tied and go into overtime.

In the extra session, Dylan Holloway worked deep into the zone and found Austin Wong in front and he made no mistake snapping a shot over the shoulder of Dragons goaltender Daniel Allin.  The final would be 4-3 Okotoks.  With the win, the Oilers now have a four-point lead over the Dragons in the AJHL South Standings with both teams having 17 games left in the season.  These two teams will meet one more time on February 8 at the Memorial Arena.
