Your Drumheller Dragons continued their weekend with a home game match up with the Calgary Canucks.  This is the first time the Canucks have come to the Memorial Arena this year.

The last time these two teams met was in Calgary on January 8th where the Dragons pulled out a 7-4 win.  Drumheller was hoping for the same outcome in the game this evening.

In the first period, both teams had their chances but neither was able to score.  The Dragons did have a powerplay opportunity but could not get one by Brett Balas.  Daniel Allin on the other end was able to stop all eight shots he faced in the first.  The period would end with the two teams tied at 0-0.

The second period was a different story.  The Canucks opened up the scoring at 8:19 when Ethan Rowland streaked in on the right side and scored to make it 1-0 Calgary.  The Dragons got on the board with 9:10 left in the period when Brady Risk scored his 18th of the season on the powerplay from Brett Edwards and Dawson Bruneski.  Drumheller adds another with 2:43 left in the second.  Roc Truman scored his 17th of the year, short-handed, from Brady Risk.  The Dragons lead 2-1 after the second period.

Drumheller's powerplay would strike again in the third.  At 5:42, Derrick Budz scored his 15th of the season from Brady Risk and Markus Boguslavsky.  With the score 3-1 Dragons and 1:29 left on the clock, Calgary would pull their goaltender and it would cost them.  Eighteen seconds later, Brady Risk would score into the empty net to make it 4-1 Drumheller.  Then, Calgary put Brett Balas back in goal, but 17 seconds later, Brett Edwards snapped a shot from the right circle to score his 21st of the year from Brayden Nicholetts and Jordan Taupert.  Drumheller would win the game 5-1.
