Tom Jackson will be swinging through Drumheller this Friday to attend the Canadian Badlands Passion Play Golf Tournament.
"I was approached by the Badlands Tourism and they asked me if I would be interested in helping to develop a profile for them. It caught me by surprise to find out how big the Badlands are. I thought it was just going to Drumheller and the dinosaur park, but no it's not. So I thought this would be very interested as I have not explored much of these towns in the Badlands," said actor and singer Tom Jackson.
This tour isn't just learning about the Badlands, he's looking to find out more about the heart of the Badlands.
"I really hope to be able to talk to some folks to learn more about the Canadian Badlands Passion Play, the people who support it, why they support it, and why they live where they live. This tour isn't just about discovering the land but to discover the people who live in this territory," outlined Jackson.
Jackson is currently on a tour through the Badlands called Spirit of the Canadian Badlands Journey.
"The who idea behind the Spirit of the Canadian Badlands Journey is to help develop an economic input and to create an awareness globally. This is for those people wanting to travel to Canada, those people who live in Canada or Alberta, to realize that the Badlands is a great destination for a holiday or exploration. I can tell you this, I went to places that are 35 million years old and you're surrounded by that. But 35 million years old and to stand on the ground, what some describe to be the womb of mother nature, was pretty outstanding and powerful. I'm thrilled to be part of the project and learning about not just the Badlands but the people who live within the territories known as the Badlands," explained Jackson.
You can catch Tom Jackson at the Dinosaur Trail Golf & Country Club on June 17 for the Canadian Badlands Passion Play Golf Tournament.
