May Long Weekend is upon us and it looks like the tourist season is starting on a high note.

"We're very busy: I only have minimal tenting and just sites available for small, small trailers, that's it," reported Betty Callbeck, manager of the Dinosaur Trail RV Resort west of the go kart track.

"The whole outlook on the summer is looking good," stated Devon Dekeyser from Dinosaur RV Park at the corner of 2 Street West and North Dinosaur Trail. "We're definitely up on reservations compared to last year and last year was good."

They both agreed that the good weather forecast this weekend is a bonus that should help fill any empty camping spots going into the weekend.

"We have more tent sites available right now because of the weather," admitted Brenda Gessleman, co-owner of Rivergrove Campground in North Drumheller. "If the weather is nice then the tenters come out."

Environment Canada is calling for some sunshine and temperatures in the low 20's Celsius Saturday and Sunday and 25 C on holiday Monday.
