The Drumheller Stampede and Agricultural Society building allows for many events in the building to happen. The building has been standing for many years now and is need of some desperate repairs.

It looks like the Ag Society's board members prayers have been answered after receiving grant money.

"The Minister of Agricultural has signed off on an energy program to help Ag Societies in Alberta to replace things that are more energy efficient," explained President of the Drumheller Stampede and Agricultural Society, Marie Hirsch.

This includes lighting, heating, and other equipment vital to keeping the buildings running.

"We received a one-time lump sum of over $18,000. That should significantly help us replace a lot of stuff we need to upgrade," continued Hirsch.

The board members have already taken steps to determine where their weakest spots in the building are, and where to spend that money.

"There was a thermal heat gun that we brought in. We walked around and found the weak spots in our building and found where and energy. We need to get some more insulation in our building and it will give us a good idea where to start," concluded Hirsch.
