One of the big annual events that brings the community together in Trochu is back again, this weekend.
The 5th Annual Bull-a-Rama is taking place at the Trochu Ag Society grounds on Saturday, June 20th. Ben Leo from the Trochu & District Ag Society provides all the details of what to expect in Trochu this weekend. “There is going to be bouncy castles and face painting for the kids. We’ve got food trucks coming, a beer gardens set up, mutton busting at 1 and we will be bucking bulls all afternoon.”
The cost to get in is only $20 and according to Leo, there is also an opportunity to get some shopping in. “We also are going to have a small farmer’s market set up with some vendors set up.” The beer gardens will be remaining open after the bull riding is complete.
The event is a great opportunity to bring everyone together in Trochu and area, as well as kind of a homecoming for those that used to call Trochu home. “Last year we figured we had over 700 people, so it brings a lot of people into town,” admits Leo.
There will be 25 bull riders for the long round with 8 contestants in the short round vying for a piece of the $3,000 purse. The stock is being provided by 3X Bucking Bulls, Doore Bucking Bulls, Lazy P Rodeo Company, and TFB Ranch. Gates open at 12PM, mutton busting at 1PM, and the bull riding action begins at 2PM.
