For those that have enjoyed the outdoor pool at the Drumheller Aquaplex, time is ticking away as the seasons are nearly changing.
It is almost time to transition to the indoor pool at the Aquaplex. The plan is to have the indoor pool open next week. According to Mayor Tony Miglecz, the use at the outdoor pool over the summer was very strong. “Sounds like they had consistent numbers throughout the season, with their swimming lessons. They gained a day camp. They had drowning prevention week and a giant water fight, they had over 150 people for that. We did have a rainy start on our season. July and August, being as nice as they were, we had over 5,500 people attending our public and lane swims over the last couple of months, so I think it was a pretty good season.”
The water is already in the pool and the transition is expected to take place on September 8th. Mayor Miglecz is hopeful that many will use the indoor pool this winter season. “Everybody is going to be heading off for school and we will be back indoors. We will see everybody in the indoor pool on September 8th.”
With the reopening of the indoor pool, access will be available for the waterslide, steam room, and the hot tub.
