Drumheller has a transit system to a number of attractions and is now operational.
Earlier this year it was announced that FlixBus was coming to the Drumheller Valley and in the summer it would connect at the Downtown Plaza with the Valley Connect bus, operated by Bubba T’s Bus Tours and Shuttle Service. The first trip for the service started Friday morning (June 26th) and will operate on Fridays and Saturdays.
The first trip will start at the Downtown Plaza at 10:00AM, then travels out to the East Coulee School Museum, followed by the Atlas Coal Mine, then the Hoodoos, before making it back to town with a stop by Canadian Tire, then back to the Downtown Plaza. It then heads west stopping at Grove Place, just across the bridge, before making it out the Royal Tyrrell Museum and returning to the Downtown Plaza.
The trip is then repeated in the afternoon at 12 noon, 2PM, and 4PM. The cost to travel on the Valley Connect is free but they do encourage those who use the service to fill out a survey, either in paper form, or online, about the Valley Connect service. This will help to determine a need for the service to continue and if there is enough volume to possibly merit more service.
The Valley Connect service will operate Fridays and Saturdays throughout the summer until August 29th. For more information on the FlixBus, check out the story on Drumheller Online.
